Dress for Learning
Students should arrive dressed for a safe, focused school day. Families are encouraged to review these expectations together before the first day of school.
Students may express their personal style within these expectations.
Ready for School
Tops
Shirts, T-shirts, blouses, sweaters, and sweatshirts that stay securely in place and cover the chest and midriff.
Bottoms
Jeans, pants, shorts, and skirts that stay secure at the waist. Shorts and skirts must reach at least mid-thigh.
Footwear
Students are encouraged to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes that remain securely on the feet and protect students’ feet.
Coverage
Clothing must cover undergarments and remain securely in place. Clothing and shoes must allow students to participate safely in daily school activities and P.E.
Not Permitted
Oversized or Baggy Clothing
Clothing that sags, drags, or does not stay secure at the waist.
Backless Footwear
Flip-flops, sports slides, slippers, sandals without heel straps, or other backless footwear.
Headwear
Hats, beanies, or other headwear that covers or conceals the face.
Prohibited Content
Clothing or personal items with words, images, or symbols that are vulgar, profane, sexually suggestive, discriminatory, violent, or related to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or gangs.
Gang-related clothing or accessories, including long belts, trench coats, chains, and chain wallets, are also not permitted.
